i am fucking miserable right now and cannot sleep. and i just tried zicam, which seems to have made it all worse. i think it might be a sinus infection, but my snot isn't green so i can't be sure. what do i do??? will someone come over and sing me lullabies or something??

why did serge tankian think a solo album was a good idea?? the musicians playing with him are like an unpracticed and tranquilized system of a down and his nasally voice is almost intolerable without them backing him. there are very few lead singers who can pull off a solo album. when will lead singers learn that people listen for THE BAND not just for the lead singer.
can you think of any solo albums that trump the band albums??? chris thile from nickelcreek comes to mind but i would say his solo album is on par, not better...

11:24 pm - 'tis the season...
so my birthday is in a couple of weeks and i'm trying to decide where to go on the saturday following (december 15th). i'm not renting out the bar or whatever, but i figure there will probably be a lot of us and so wherever we go we'll probably just take the place over. the places i'm considering are fuze, butter, and shine. i want to dance. fuze is kind of out of the way, but they usually have a good dj and aren't too crowded. plus the long islands are killer! shine has lots of seating, ok music, and is in a pretty convenient location. again, usually not too crowded i don't think. butter is just rad-- good music, not much room for dancing (although we usually find a way). the only problem with butter is it's definite destruction... what are your votes, kids?? i want to pick a place and stay there for the night to make it easier to meet up with people, so choose wisely. lovvvve you!

so i'm allowed to have people come in and volunteer and teach lessons at work so if any of you want to do that, let me know. i already have mr. sellers coming in to kick-off my drawing & painting enrichment.
you can come in any afternoon monday through thursday and teach ANYthing. if you can help with my drawing/painting enrichment (ahem, sarah, jessica???) or if you have any other lesson or activity you think would be beneficial or fun you can come in for a day or even a couple days or a week or whatever. the kids (2nd through 5th grades) are great and open to learning about pretty much anything so let me know.

tomorrow, at 1pm, i get a tour of the new academy of sciences. i am so excited, construction is done in about a month, which means it's basically finished. yeah, i know, i'm a nerd.

so i'm watching the simpsons episode where stan lee encourages bart to write a comic strip and he creates "angry dad." anyway stan lee basically refuses to leave the comic book store and they make some joke about him being senile and then he HUMS THE SPIDER PIG THEME. just fyi.

before the 4th of july i am going to be spending a few days in devner/colorado springs visiting my cousins, getting drunk, and having an all-around good time. i'm so excited. and i'll be back in time to spend the fourth of july with you crazy folks. yay!!

seriously you guys are amazing. already i've gone to quiz night with alex 2.o and brian chen. today i'm going hiking with loren, and then to shrek 3 with amanda. tomorrow i get to see my besssssssstest friend in the whole wide world AND i get to go to davis for bt with matty, wamp, etc! and i think on friday there are a bunch of us hanging out in the city. so thanks everyone. seriously you have no idea how awesome you all are!

so last thursday/friday i had crazy high fevers (103.9 was the highest i measured) and still went to see chuck palahniuk on friday night. saturday i saw junk in the back of my throat and decided it was time to see a doctor. i did. i have/had strep. so i spent the weekend doing like, nothing. no drinking, no going out aside from seeing chuck. it was nice to have one weekend of rest but i am DEFINITELY ready for some partying this friday in the city. so if you're here or want to be here, friday is the day.
i've been working 5 days a week at the after-school program. some days are harder than others but for the most part it's been fun. looks like i'll be working summer camp this summer too. fun! anyway i hope i get to see those of you i haven't seen in awhile sometime in the near future. <3

i guess it's time for an update or something...
i had fun on picnic day from what i remember. i didn't see a lot of you and i'm sad about that but i will see you all soon i'm sure.
i passed the music cset (all three subtests) and thus i am off to my interview at sf state on monday. if all goes well i'll be starting the credential program there august 2007 and (hopefully) teaching by august 2008. wow.
i don't know if i posted about this but i work at a pretty ghetto elementary school in the after-school program. it's fun. unless the kids are stealing my ipod.
annnnd i just came back from the vivienne westwood exhiibit at the de young. it was pretty rad. and i always forget how beautiful that museum is. you should all check it out some day.
i have no idea what else is going on in my life. seriously. but i'm happy, i really am.

so i just got back from sf state university where i turned in my application for the teaching credential program there. assuming all goes well, i'll probably have an interview in late april. my professors wrote lovely letters of recommendation-- it was really nice of them. anyway i'm very relieved the application process is over.
i'm still very hungover because i had the worst possible combination of drinks ever last night (ie: 2 mixed drinks and a tall can at butter, a mojito at wish, and 2 cans of pbr). we thought buying 20 dollars worth of pbr (that is to say, 20 cans) was a good idea. it was not. there were still like, 10 unopened pbrs on the bar when we left.
i miss you guys but i'll be in davis tomorrow night so yeah... um my brain is really not functioning properly today. sorry.
